Title of Work: Tell Your Tale, Make It Real!

Art Form: Visual Arts – Paper weaving and creative writing

Our inter-generational group included members of Clan na Gael Friendly Club and pupils from the local secondary school, St. Ronans. We began our workshop by introducing and telling each other a little bit about ourselves - our likes and interests.

After a session on how to weave with paper, each participant chose their own medium for the warp and weft - coloured and patterned card, coloured paper, wallpaper, ribbon, thread, even their own paintings! - and added their "story" by writing, printing, papercutting, or through the painting itself. The resulting framed art pieces are highly individual and unique, visually powerful both separately and when displayed together.
