The Flight of the Hummingbird - Doorstep Dancing - 2020 started with us all having to social distance and with that brought loneliness and a lack of connection but along came the Here and Now Festival and Doorstep Dancing emerged! The residents of Wingrove Gardens in Belfast have been dancing in their Driveways and Doorsteps. The residents have been reminiscing and celebrating their lives through music, movement and dance. We had husband and wife duets and beautiful solos from gentlemen and ladies who live on their own, all sharing their life’s road trip through dance. Through dance people celebrated life and in doing so created a sense of connection and joy on the street. It has been heart-warming to see people sing, smile and dance. The residents of Wingrove lit up their doorsteps with a vibrant energy that would fill anyone’s heart with joy and hope for things to come on the next chapter of life’s amazing road trip!

This year started with us all having to social distance and with that brought loneliness and a lack of connection but along came the Here and Now Festival and Doorstep Dancing emerged! The residents of Wingrove Gardens have been dancing in their drive ways and doorsteps. The residents have been dancing and celebrating their life stories with Dancer Charmaine McMeekin.
We have had Husband and Wife Duets and beautiful solo’s from gentlemen and ladies who live on their own. Through socially distance dancing we have created connection and joy. It has been heart warming to see people sing, dance and smile, they lit up their doorsteps with a vibrant energy that would fill anyone’s heart with joy and hope for things to come.
