Title of Work: The Silence of Time & Postcard Stories

Everyone has a lifetime of stories within them, waiting to be told. In our creative writing sessions everyone was empowered to find their voice and unleash the seanachaí in them - the keeper of stories. They shared real life tales and created stories and poems. In these times of social distancing, and social isolation for many of the sight impaired participants, they wanted to deeply connect with others. They decided to produce postcard stories to send to the other groups that were taking part in Here & Now. They took the heart of their writing pieces, choosing the most moving lines to send to others on postcards; then they created paintings inspired by the words with visual artist Grainne, to create each unique postcard image. The postcards are not just beautiful works of art, but are acts of love and connection.
