Title of Work: ‘Dancing through the Years’

Sion Mills group showed great interest to take part in our dance sessions for 2021 Here and Now Festival. Due to Covid lockdowns it was impossible to bring the group together. And Live Zoom was unfortunately, was not an option. We then decided to create a dance video/CD aiming at movement and dance appropriate for the older peoples group.
The video/CD was themed on ‘dancing our way through the 40s, 50, and 60s’. Taking our memories on a road trip through the various different music eras. Evoking times gone by, and reminiscing the ‘good old days. Being very mindful of the necessity to remain active, the videos offer the opportunity for the participants to enjoy gentle movement, therefor maintaining and improving mobility, flexibility, posture, balance, and movement memory.
The theme of ‘Dancing through the years’ accompanied by the music stimulates the memory of the old songs we love to sing. This twosome is aimed at provoking a singsong as you dance. The dance sessions are aimed for chair movement or standing movement. Giving everyone a chance to take part and enjoy the sessions. Delivery will be aimed at individuals in their own home with access to a CD player or video machine. Also nursing homes.
