The Scenic Route - “The project was a celebration of life in all its beauty, wonder and brokenness - the ups and downs and rich diversity of everyday life. Reading poetry to inspire reflections, conversations and connection. Encouraging creative writing to support the voices of older people. Gentle stretching, movement, awareness of space and breath work to support mobility, release tension and 'ground' the voice. The group wrote poems and prose inspired by the beauty of the world around us and the changing seasons, childhood memories and school days, getting the covid vaccination, life choices, loss. Every week they came with poems to share - a creative flowing of words that deeply enriched us all”.
