Title of Work:
A Calm Rise
We've all had to take things one day at a time this year, regardless of season, so the dawn of a new day seemed to perfectly capture what the word "Blossoming" has meant to me this year.

The City at Dawn
In difficult times, I find it helpful to get some perspective - and what better way to change your outlook, than to change your view. Morning walks and City views have helped me to "Blossom" this year many times.

A Glimpse
I'm pretty sure we all know much more about our local areas this year than we ever thought we would! I found this Blossom in the grounds of Queens University Belfast, which has been a frequent walking destination for me, living in Belfast City Centre. Sometimes it takes some extreme circumstances to really appreciate the world around you.

Medium: Photography

I've been a Cardiac Physiologist in the Belfast Trust since 2017. I happened to be on rotation in the Belfast City Hospital when it was made Northern Ireland's first Nightingale Hospital last year. I ended up only working directly with a few Covid patients during the first wave, but it was still certainly an odd experience leaving for work every day (like SO many others) not quite knowing what I was going in to. It was important to me to enter the exhibition this year because I started a 365 photo challenge in 2020, little did I know how difficult that would be! No travel, lockdown, and a period of self-isolation later, and I found my love for photography had grown hugely.
