David Sweet had been a consultant neonatologist in Royal Maternity Hospital for twenty years. David is an enthusiastic amateur artist, mainly working in soft pastel. His work is represented in several local galleries. This year with COVID causing lockdown, and with NICU being relatively little affected has left more time than usual for painting. This year has resulted in a series of portraits of “Covid Warriors”, one selected for exhibition at the Royal Ulster Academy of Arts Annual Exhibition. I was keen to submit work for this online exhibition again this year as it is a lovely forum for showcasing work amongst colleagues. This years pieces inspired by a desire for “Summer” and a desire for “Dancing and fun” beyond COVID
